A massive security operation is due to get underway today ahead of this weekend’s EU accession summit in Dublin.

A massive security operation is due to get underway today ahead of this weekend’s EU accession summit in Dublin.

Around 5,000 gardaí and 2,500 soldiers are expected to be on duty in the capital during the weekend. The majority will be tasked with protecting EU dignitaries during functions at Áras an Uachtaráin and Farmleigh House.
