Labour wants waiting list figures published

The Labour Party has demanded the publication of hospital waiting list figures for the final quarter of 2003.

Party spokeswoman Liz McManus said the quarterly figures are normally published three months after the end of the relevant quarter, but the figures for the final quarter of 2003 have still not be released.

She also said the Government had made an election promise in May 2002 to clear all hospital waiting lists within two years, but this had clearly not happened in the intervening period.
