NI Policing Board backs move to sack DUP representative
Members of the Northern Ireland Policing Board have backed moves to sack a Democratic Unionist representative who harassed a gay colleague.
Arthur Templeton was deemed unfit to continue serving during a stormy committee meeting in Belfast.
A recommendation to dismiss him from his seat on Newtownabbey's district policing partnership will now be put to a full meeting of the central body in May.
The DUP councillor has also been suspended from the party, after being convicted of harassing John Blair during local election campaigns stretching back three years.
