Bomb disposal experts in the North are examining a suspicious device found this morning near the offices of a member of the local policing board in Derry.

The device, a pipe with black tape attached, was found near the office of SDLP councillor Pat Ramsey.

The surrounding area has been sealed off and several homes and offices have been evacuated.

The incident is believed to be related to a dissident republican campaign of intimidation against nationalist members of the local policing partnerships in the North.
