Naughten calls for garda traffic corps

Fine Gael TD Denis Naughten has called for the hiring of extra gardaí and the establishment of a garda traffic corps in an effort to reduce the level of deaths on Ireland’s roads.

Mr Naughten was speaking ahead of a meeting of the Oireachtas transport committee to discuss an increase in the number of fatal road accidents so far this year.
