The number of people killed on Ireland’s roads so far this year is almost 30% higher than in the same period last year, according to figures published today by the National Safety Council.

The number of people killed on Ireland’s roads so far this year is almost 30% higher than in the same period last year, according to figures published today by the National Safety Council.

The council said 110 people had died in road accidents so far this year, compared to 85 in the same period last year. Eight of this year’s fatalities happened in the past seven days.
