Gardaí who are investigating the murder of a Dublin woman who was shot dead in her home on Saturday do not believe the victim, her husband or her brother was the intended target of her attackers.

Gardaí who are investigating the murder of a Dublin woman who was shot dead in her home on Saturday do not believe the victim, her husband or her brother was the intended target of her attackers.

According to the results of a preliminary post mortem examination, 64-year-old Joan Casey died from a single gunshot wound to the chest.

It was originally thought that the mother of five may have been the mistaken victim of a gangland shooting.
