Officers were attacked with paint early today after a car was abandoned outside Northern Ireland’s police training college.

Officers were attacked with paint early today after a car was abandoned outside Northern Ireland’s police training college.

The white Peugeot was left near the entrance to Garnerville College in east Belfast shortly after midnight.

Two petrol bombs were thrown at the car but failed to ignite. When police went to investigate, they came under attack with paint bombs.

Damage was caused to two vehicles in the street but there were no injuries.

Police at Strandtown have appealed for information and were particularly interested in the the car whose registration was YXI 1214.
