An Post prepared to begin talks with CWU
An Post has accepted the Labour Relations Commission’s proposals for resolving the ongoing postal dispute.
The LRC submitted the recommendations last night in an effort to get the company and the Communications Workers Union to begin face-to-face talks.
An Post said today that it was happy with the recommendations and was prepared to begin talks with the CWU on Monday.
The company said it was particularly satisfied with the recommendation that talks, encompassing all the issues facing An Post, should be held within a six-week time-frame.
The CWU national executive is still discussing its response to the proposals, which include a recommendation that the hundreds of workers suspended by An Post management in the past two weeks be reinstated before talks begin.
