Walsh defends State funding for Punchestown centre

Agriculture Minister Joe Walsh has defended the Government’s decision to fund the construction of a €15m events centre at the Punchestown racecourse in Co Kildare.

The Dáil’s public accounts committee severely criticised the funding earlier this week and said the Department of Finance’s own guidelines were completely ignored when the money was allocated.
