Three Irish-born children among eastern European deportees
Three Irish-born children were among 61 failed asylum-seekers deported to eastern Europe on a specially chartered plane yesterday, according to reports this morning.
The Romanians and Moldovans were flown to their home countries yesterday morning at a cost of €72,000 to the taxpayer.
The Government began sending Irish-born children out of the country with their parents last year, following a Supreme Court ruling that said their parents were not automatically entitled to residency on the grounds that their children were Irish citizens.
