The Irish branch of Amnesty International has called on the Irish presidency of the EU to devise measures to address human rights issues that will accompany the enlargement of the union later this year.

The Irish branch of Amnesty International has called on the Irish presidency of the EU to devise measures to address human rights issues that will accompany the enlargement of the union later this year.

The human rights organisation said the movement of people following enlargement could increase racism and ethnic tensions and politicians had a duty to show leadership on the issue.
