Murder squad detectives questioned a man today about a shooting in Northern Ireland.

The body of Andy Cully, from Greyabbey, Co Down, was discovered in an alleyway at a loyalist housing estate in Newtownards, Co Down. He was in his late 40s.

The shooting happened at Beaufort Walk in the West Winds area of Newtownards last night.

Ambulance crews were called to the scene by someone who reported hearing up to 10 shots fired.

When paramedics arrived minutes later, the victim was already dead.

Police sealed off the area and began a detailed examination of the scene.

The man questioned is being held at Antrim police station.
