Smoking ban to save Iarnrod Éireann €200k

Iarnrod Éireann has said the national workplace smoking ban will save the company at least €200,000 every year.

The company has said it expects lower cleaning and damage costs on trains and in stations after the ban comes in.

It also believes the law, which comes into effect next Monday, will enable train staff to enforce the existing no smoking regulations.
