Irish anti-war protest to begin at 3pm in Dublin

A protest is being held in Dublin today to mark the first anniversary of the war in Iraq.

Campaigners will gather at Parnell Square at 3pm this afternoon and will later lay a wreath outside the American Embassy in memory of those killed in the war.

They will also use the opportunity to voice their opposition to the proposed visit to Ireland by US President George Bush in June.

Roger Cole of the Peace and Neutrality Alliance says it is expecting a massive turn out.
