Man seriously injured in Limerick gas explosion

A man has been seriously injured in a suspected gas explosion at a factory in Limerick city this morning.

The blast happened at the factory in Castletroy at around 8.45am.

The injured man was rushed to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital, where his condition is said to be extremely serious.

The area of the explosion has been sealed off and the emergency services are at the scene.
