Rabbitte hits out at citizenship referendum date

The Labour Leader Pat Rabbitte has opposed the holding a referendum on citizenship on the same day as this year's local and European elections.

The Government has announced it will ask the electorate to vote on whether the children of foreigners should have an automatic right to Irish nationality.
