Shots fired at home of Johnny Adair’s nephew

A nephew of former UDA commander Johnny Adair has escaped injury in a gun attack on his home in north Belfast last night.

Mark Adair and his girlfriend were in the house on Summer Street, in the Cliftonpark area, at the time of the attack, which happened at around 8.45pm.

Several shots were fired at the house by an unknown number of men, who fled the scene in a waiting car.

Loyalist sources said they believed the UDA, which recently announced an extension of its alleged ceasefire, was behind the attack.
