FG MEP heading Sri Lanka observation team

Irish MEP John Cushnahan has travelled to Sri Lanka to head a team of EU monitors overseeing the country’s upcoming general election.

Mr Cushnahan, a Fine Gael MEP for Munster, said his main task was to ensure that the election was not marred by any abuses.
