Group to outline voting concerns

A group opposed the Government’s electronic voting plans is due to outline its concerns at a press conference later today.

A group opposed the Government’s electronic voting plans is due to outline its concerns at a press conference later today.

Irish Citizens for Trustworthy E-Voting is calling on the Government to ensure that the electronic voting machines due to be used in this year’s local and European elections print out a paper record of each ballot cast.

The group believes public confidence in the system would be undermined if a paper record was not available to verify the electronic results.
