Refugees face major difficulties 'securing accommodation’
Refugees and asylum seekers in Ireland face huge difficulties in finding adequate accommodation, according to a report published today by the Vincentian Refugee Centre.
The report said refugees and asylum seekers faced several barriers when it came to finding accommodation, including racism, high rents, low welfare benefits and language difficulties.
It said the Government should respond to the situation by establishing an adequate system of housing supports for refugees and asylum seekers.
