Fianna Fáil delegates are heading to Roscommon Town today to select two candidates to contest the forthcoming European elections in Ireland north and west. Frank Fahey,

Sean O'Neachtáin and Jim McDaid are battling it out for two running positions. Attempts by Fianna Fáil to persuade the sitting MEP, Sean O'Neachtáin, to vacate the seat haven't worked.

Director of Elections, Minister John O'Donoghue, says an internal Fianna Fáil Poll indicates that Mr O'Neachtain will lose out.
