Ahern: Time for end to paramilitarism

The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern today said the time for all forms of paramilitarism to come to an end in the North was “long past“.

He told the Dáil he would be underscoring his views tonight when he met Sinn Féin leaders for the first time since the claimed involvement of the IRA in the Belfast kidnapping of dissident republican Bobby Tohill.
