Victim Support reports increased demand for services

The Victim Support organisation has reported a 30% increase in the number of people using its service for trial witnesses last year.

The service is provided to victims who are due to give evidence in court cases relating to murders, rapes and assaults.

Victim Support said 177 people were referred to the service last year, compared to 135 in 2002.
