Pensioner, 91, suffers raid ordeal
A 91-year-old woman has been attacked and robbed at her home in Belfast, police disclosed today.
The victim, who suffers hearing and sight difficulties, was held down by four masked men who broke into the house through a rear window last night.
One of the raiders put a hand over the terrified pensioner’s mouth before she was threatened.
The thieves then ransacked her home in the Lisburn Road area of south Belfast, taking cash and benefits books before escaping.
A police spokesman said: “The woman, though quite shaken, made her way to a neighbour’s house to raise the alarm.
“She was treated for shock by paramedics.”
