Gardaí name accident victim

Gardaí have named the man killed in an accident in Co Galway last night.

Gardaí have named the victim as 62 year old Jim Callan of Kilkerrin.

The accident happened at 7.30pm when Mr Callan was struck by a tractor near Ballinsloe in Co Galway while walking.

A second accident occurred in Moville in Co Donegal, at a 3.45am this morning, when a car collided with a bridge.

The driver of the car, a 27-year-old, died in hospital from his injuries.
