Taoiseach to meet Italian PM in Rome

The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern is due to meet Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi in Rome later today.

The two men are expected to discuss the stalled negotiations on the proposed EU constitution.

Mr Ahern has vowed to seek a consensus on the document during Ireland’s six-month presidency of the European Union.
