FF ethics committee to discuss Flynn allegations
Fianna Fáil’s internal ethics committee is due to meet this evening to discuss the latest tax evasion allegations levelled against Beverley Cooper-Flynn.
In a statement to the Dáil last night, the Mayo TD strenuously denied media reports that she had helped her father invest money offshore for the purposes of evading tax.
She admitted making the investments, but said she told Padraig Flynn, himself a former Fianna Fáil minister, that he was obliged to report the money to the tax authorities.
The Fianna Fáil ethics committee is expected to open a file on the matter this evening, but it is unlikely to take any action until the Mahon Tribunal has investigated the investments.
