Schroeder praises efforts to resolve EU impasse

German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder has praised the Taoiseach for his determination to secure an agreement on the proposed EU constitution.

Mr Schroeder was speaking ahead of talks with Bertie Ahern in Dublin last night. The two men met to discuss ways to overcome the impasse in negotiations on the constitution.
