O'Neachtain vows to seek FF euro nomination
Fianna Fáil MEP Sean O’Neachtain has insisted that he will seek the Fianna Fáil nomination to contest the upcoming European election in the North-West constituency.
The party leadership apparently wants Mr O’Neachtain to step aside in favour of Frank Fahey and Jim McDaid.
The convention to select Fianna Fáil’s candidates was due to go ahead yesterday but it was cancelled due to the dispute between the leadership and Mr O’Neachtain.
Speaking about the matter today, the sitting MEP said: “This is gross interference, it’s undermining the very fabric of the Fianna Fáil organisation and it’s time now to should stop and let the convention go ahead and let the democratic voice of Fianna Fáil speak out.”
