O'Neachtain refusing to stand down as European candidate
Fianna Fáil has postponed tomorrow's selection of European Parliament candidates for the North-West constituency, in a bid to manoeuvre its preferred candidates into place.
Party headquarters want to run two junior Ministers: Galway-based Frank Fahy and Donegal-based Jim McDaid.
However, Sean O'Neachtain, who is the incumbent MEP for the constituency, is refusing to stand down. Mr O'Neachtain insists he will win his seat back, despite party policy.
