EU conference wants women in politics

An EU Conference on gender equality, which was held in Dublin, has been told that more women need to enter and participate in Irish politics.

The Oireachtas has one of the lowest rates of female representation among EU national parliaments.

Leinster MEP Nuala Ahern of the Green Party said: “We need more women in politics in order to catch up with other European countries."
