Gillis opts out of FG euro race

Fine Gael's Alan Gillis has dropped out of the race for the nominations for the 2004 European elections.

Mr Gillis was Fine Gael MEP for Leinster from 1994 to 1999 and is also a former President of the Irish Farmers' Association.
