Kenny meets EU Transport commissioner

Fine Gael Leader Enda Kenny TD has met with EU Transport Commissioner, Loyola de Palacio, at the European Peoples' Party Summit Congress in Brussels today.

Deputy Kenny's discussions with the Commissioner centred on the consequences of EC ruling on the subsidies to Ryanair and the issue of the future status of Shannon Airport.

Commissioner de Palacio said she hoped to conclude negotiations with the US before the end of the year but that the Commission was very conscious of the importance of Shannon.
