Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Frank Fahey, has appointed 103 members to the Employment Appeals Tribunal.

This independent body was set up to provide a speedy, fair, and inexpensive way for individuals to seek remedies for statutory rights infringements.

The Tribunal now consists of a chairman, 31 vice-chairmen and a panel of 72 other members, 36 nominated by the Irish Congress of Trade Unions and 36 nominated by organisations representative of employers.

Kate O'Mahony, barrister, is the sitting Chairman of the Tribunal whose term of office will expire next January, and was originally appointed to the position of Chairman almost two years ago.
