Homes evacuated and DART hit by crane collapse

Around 60 people in Ringsend in Co Dublin have been told to stay away from their homes tonight after a 200ft crane collapses in their area.

The alert has prompted Iarnród Éireann to dramatically curtail services tomorrow due to safety concerns.

The crane is currently unstable and the rail company fears it could threaten the DART line if it collapses.

It’s prompted them to make changes to services. Tomorrow, no DART services will run between Pearse and Sydney Parade Stations.

A curtailed service will operate between Sydney Parade and Greystones.

Northside services will operate between Howth and Malahide and Connolly or Pearse Stations, but will be subject to minor delays.

Commuter services on these routes will not operate south of Pearse Station.

Meanwhile, Rosslare InterCity and Gorey Commuter services will be part or fully substituted by bus.
