Rabbitte attacks Tánaiste's comments on elderly

Labour Party leader Pat Rabbitte has slammed the Tánaiste’s recent comments about the State’s duty to provide care for the elderly.

Mary Harney was quoted in the media as saying that the State should not be expected to pay the full cost of looking after elderly people, despite the fact that most have paid taxes for their entire lives.
