The British government has announced plans to abolish the 11-plus exam in the North in four years’ time.

The British government has announced plans to abolish the 11-plus exam in the North in four years’ time.

Jane Kennedy, an official in Britain’s Northern Ireland Office, said the last 11-plus exams will be held in autumn 2008.

The exam is currently used to decide which second-level schools children can attend.
