The Department of Health is due to launch a series of television adverts today aimed at raising awareness about drugs in Irish society.

The Department of Health is due to launch a series of television advertisements today aimed at raising awareness about drugs in Irish society.

The advertisements are part of a two-year drug awareness campaign that will also see booklets distributed to parents and children and the launch of a drug information website.

A recent Government survey found that 60% of parents believed they knew too little to educate their children about the dangers of drugs.
