Fireworks in Chinatown called off

Organisers of the Chinatown Festival in Dublin have said the planned firework display - due to take place tonight - will not go ahead.

It has being replaced by a troop of fire dancers whose performance will take place at 7pm in Smithfield.

The festival, organised to celebrate the Chinese New Year, continues today until Tuesday, from noon to 7pm each day.
