Amnesty sought for parents of Irish-born children
A group of civil liberties campaigners has called on the Government to show compassion towards immigrants affected by last year’s Supreme Court ruling on the parents of Irish-born children.
The court ruled that foreigners who gave birth to children in Ireland were not entitled to residency simply because their children were Irish citizens.
The Coalition Against the Deportation of Irish Children has urged the Government to allow families who submitted residency applications prior to the application to remain in Ireland.
