Ireland escapes FLS Aerospace cutbacks

More than 270 jobs are to be axed at aircraft maintenance firm FLS Aerospace at Stansted airport in London.

Dublin escaped unscathed after the company announced earlier today that the company was to cut 8% - 10% of jobs in the UK and Ireland.

The Danish owned firm broke the news to unions this evening. There are fears that there will be further cutbacks at Manchester airport. The Transport and General Workers Union said it would fight the job cuts.
