Ageing population may pressurise exchequer

A conference in Dublin has heard that Ireland's ageing population will put serious pressure on the Exchequer in the years and decades ahead.

The conference, organised by the Progressive Democrats, heard that the increasing age of the population will necessitate increased spending on health and social welfare in the future.
