Former IRA man admits lying in Saville statement

A former member of the Official IRA has admitted that he lied about his role in the organisation in his original statement to the Saville Inquiry.

In his first statement to the inquiry in May 1999, the man, identified only as OIRA 8, denied being a member of the Official IRA at the time of Bloody Sunday.
