‘Irishmen die six years younger than Irish women’
Irish men die an average of six years younger than Irish women, according to a report published today.
The report by the Men’s Health Forum also said Irish men take risks with their health by not visiting the doctor or by failing to get speedy treatment for illnesses.
The report, which contains statistics on male life expectancy, mortality and morbidity, claimed the issue of men’s health was under-researched and had been ignored for too long.
It recommended that an advisory group be established to examine the issue.
