Clare death 'not suspicious'

Gardaí are no longer treating as suspicious the death of a Belfast man whose body was found in the bloodstained bathroom of his home in Co Clare.

A post-mortem at Mid-Western Regional Hospital found that Pat McHugh, 46, died from natural causes.

The alarm was raised when Mr McHugh’s partner, who had just arrived home from a trip overseas, discovered his body last night.

There were no signs of a break-in at the house, which is situated in a rural area three miles outside Ennis.
