A 51-year-old man has told the Saville Inquiry in Derry how a bullet ripped through his coat as he ran in panic from the British army on Bloody Sunday 32 years ago.

William Hegarty, who was 19 at the time, said he was trying to flee the British soldiers when he felt a burning sensation in his left shoulder. He said he later found a scorch mark on the shoulder and bullet holes in the front and back of his coat.
