The National Bus and Workers Union met this afternoon to consider resuming the protest against the planned break up of CIE.

The meeting followed a statement from the Minister for Transport Seamus Brennan that he intends to press ahead with the break up of the company while talks with the unions are still in progress.

The NBRU will meet with SIPTU and all other union members on Thursday before a decision on strike action is made.

However, speaking after today’s meeting the NBRU General Secretary Liam Tobin said they are prepared to battle with the Minister all the way.
