Roche: ‘EU accession states hoping to emulate Ireland’

Junior Minister Dick Roche has claimed that the 10 countries due to join the European Union next year are modelling themselves on Ireland.

Mr Roche, who has responsibility for European affairs, claimed the 10 accession states were hoping to emulate Ireland’s economic improvement since it joined the EU in 1973.
