Gardaí in Dublin have launched a murder inquiry following the death of a man from severe head injuries in Dublin at the weekend.

The body of 54-year-old David Sutherland, who lived at Sheelin Park in Ballybrack, was found in a laneway at around 1.30am yesterday by a local resident.

The laneway is at Pearse Gardens near the deceased’s former home at O'Rourke Park, in Sallynoggin.
